EU Extends Sanctions On 177 Individuals And 48 Legal Entities For Undermining Ukraine’s Territorial Integrity Until September 15 Даша Зубкова
The European Union has extended its sanctions on 177 individuals and 48 legal entities for actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine until September 15.
The European Council announced this in a statement, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
“The Council today decided to extend the sanctions targeting those responsible for undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine for a further six months until 15 September 2021… Sanctions will continue to apply to 177 individu
Tabachnyk, Arbuzov excluded from EU sanctions list 1 min read
The EU Council has excluded from the list of former high-ranking Ukrainian officials during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, on whom the EU imposed sanctions in the form of an asset freeze for misappropriation of public funds, ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov and ex-Minister of Education Dmytro Tabachnyk.
Such a decision, according to which the sanctions for the rest were extended for another year - until March 6, 2022, was published in the Official Journal of the EU.
Thus, ex-president Yanukovych, his son Oleksandr, ex-minister of internal affairs Vitaliy Zakharchenko, his deputy Viktor Ratushniak, ex-prosecutor Viktor Pshonka and his son Artem, Serhiy Kurchenko and former Minister of Tax and Income Oleksandr Klymenko remain on the list.

The European Union has officially lifted sanctions off two allies of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych; these are former Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov and former Education Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk. The Annex to Decision 2014/119/CFSP is amended as follows: (1) in section A ( List of persons, entities and bodies referred to in Article 1 ), the entries for the following persons are deleted: Dmytro Volodymyrovych Tabachnyk; Serhiy Hennadiyovych Arbuzov, the EU Council said in its decision of March 4, 2021.
