Chamber ambassadors recognize four businesses

(Contributed) The Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recognized four local businesses Wednesday, Feb. 10. Club E Fit, owned and operated by Natalie Heckert, is a fitness center located in the Viking Plaza Mall. Heckert has been serving in the health and fitness industry in the Alexandria area for more than 25 years. She invented this system for an easy way to exercise with minimal equipment, serving those in the surrounding area as well as clients around the U.S. through online classes.

COVID-19 survivors are especially needed to address a convalescent plasma shortage, because they may have antibodies in their plasma that could help patients currently battling the virus, according to the Red Cross.

Douglas County dad and daughter give shoppers more to listen to than the Salvation Army bells ringing

(Lowell Anderson / Echo Press) Being a volunteer for the Salvation Army as a bell ringer is just as much a part of the holiday season as Santa and Christmas trees, according to 24-year-old Taylor Anderson. Anderson started ringing the bell last year after moving back to the area. For her first year, she rang the bell by herself.
