A tech CEO named Onur Aksoy has been sentenced in Federal court for running extensive operation selling counterfeit Cisco equipment, with some of the fraudulent Cisco gear ending up in U.S. government and classified information systems, as well as hospitals and schools, according to the DoJ.
Federal prosecutors said Onur Aksoy, 40, of Miami, Florida, sold hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of counterfeit Cisco networking equipment that made its way into schools, hospitals and onto fighter jets such as the F-15, F-18 and F-22. Aksoy also holds citizenship in Turkey.
