The festival, which is taking place until August 19, is organised by the Hong Kong-ASEAN Association, the Consulates General of ASEAN countries in Hong Kong, and partners.
Kapil Talwalkar, Olivia Liang and Karan Soni have been announced as the main cast of the upcoming indie film "Paper Flowers.” About “Paper Flowers”: The film, directed by Mahesh Pailoor, follows the story of a young man who becomes determined to make the most of his remaining days after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. The film is based on the life of Shalin Shah, a graduate of the University of Southern California and a Peace Corps volunteer who died at the age of 22.
When “Elemental” director Peter Sohn and producer Denise Ream first saw their seven years of hard work on the big screen, they experienced what they describe as being similar to parents feeling the prideful moment of watching their child graduate. The filmmakers first saw the finished product at the Stag Theater at Skywalker Ranch in California, where they experienced an overwhelming wave of memories of their time spent developing the movie. Along with animators, Sohn and Ream noted “Elemental” to be the most challenging Pixar film they have ever tackled.

The festival, organised by the Vietnam Film Development Association (VFDA) in collaboration with the Đà Nẵng City People’s Committee and other foreign partners, promises to be a celebration of the finest in Asian and Vietnamese cinema.
