NEW YORK (1010 WINS) A vandal or vandals spray-painted swastikas and other hateful graffiti on a veterans memorial in Queens two days after Memorial Day, officials said.
The graffiti was discovered at the Queens Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Elmhurst Park early Wednesday morning, the NYPD said.

this picture. a guy was at the vietnam vets memorial, the women s memorial. they took a picture where apparently some parents told the kids, hey, climb up on that monument for some pictures. and said that just then some veterans showed up and snapped a picture. they looked angry and hurt and they got very quiet. he asked the question on reddit whether or not it was disrespectful for the parents to allow the kids to climb on this memorial. or is this just one of those things because they re were no ropes the kids just climb on things naturally. it s a woman s vietnam memorial. it was put out in 1993. you love the fact that with all the options people went out of their way to go to this. should kids be climbing on it? janice says on facebook disgraceful. those memorials are not monkey bars to be played on. it s not a grave, it s an only of public beauty. give the kids a break. what about the parents?
