This fish market, usually bustling with activity from midnight till dawn, is the largest seafood wholesale market in Ha Long.
It once was located behind Ha Long 1 market, but then in early September 2020 it was moved to a more hygienic area in Cao Xanh ward which is about 3-4 kilometers from the old location. The market is renowned for its vibrant nights, jam-packed with people and energy.
The moment midnight descends is when fishing boats dock at the port, from which each basket and each barrel of fresh seafood is loaded ashore. This is the time for early connoisseur traders to buy the freshest goods that are surprisingly affordable.
