(VOVWORLD) -President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is on a 3-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong. The visit is an opportunity for the two countries to open a new chapter in their bilateral relations, given the great potential for economic cooperation.
Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Kazakhstan has increased by about 3 times compared to the level before the Vietnam-EAEU Free Trade Agreement was signed.
In talks with Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi affirmed that Vietnam is a priority partner in the region and that promoting close cooperation with Vietnam is an important element of Kazakhstan s foreign policy towards the Asia-Pacific.
