who came forward saying that they themselves had been abused by r. kelly, both sexually and physically and other ways. they also talked about being minors, a few saying they were minors when r. kelly engaged in sexual activity with them. as you know, engaging in sexual activity with a minor is considered statutory rape. so we should also mention that r. kelly all these years, all the accusations that have come forward against him, he has denied each and every one of them. he s been very clear, saying that he is innocent of any of the allegations and accusations, and in 2008 when he was charged with 14 counts of child pornography, he was acquitted in that case. that case involved a girl who was on a videotape, a girl who the jurors said they could not positively identify beyond a reasonable doubt. the prosecution said the girl was 13 or 14 years old. they said that it was also r. kelly on the videotape showing
by the fact that what the president i mean, look, we ve known the president isn t often rooted in reality and his claims are fact-free, but they seem to be more brazen, more rapid fire. even when we have videotape showing that he s making up numbers out of thin air and using all sorts of different numbers, he doesn t seem to be embarrassed about that. it s more about an exaggeration. there is a kernel of truth, there probably is some job creation, but when he ramps up from 40,000 to a million jobs clearly there is a discrepancy between the facts and how many jobs that might produce. i think there used to be a kernel of truth, but when he is making up things about the caravan there doesn t have to be a kernel of truth anymore. law enforcement will look at this and say, okay, we have a few problems we are going to have to worry about, public health, right, you have to make sure that those folks are not bringing something that we don t want exposed to the rest of the american popu
that in a moment. i want to go to the former assistant u.s. attorney for the southern district of new york. harry. that s where the michael cohen case is right now. wendy murphy is the former prosecutor and david gergen served as adviser to four presidents. harry, look, as you heard jeff reporting, the president essentially acting as his own lawyer and in a sense, you hear that now when he s saying going off with his list of things and going back to a year ago before there were guilty pleas and all sorts of p inindictments. but he s tweeting one thing that clearly contradicts what he said before. this is what happens when someone who isn t a lawyer essentially takes on their own defense. that s absolutely right. and this is not a good idea. he s saying one thing. there s videotape showing something the opposite. he s continuing to call the investigation a hoax. when many people have gone into court, under oath, admitting they ve committed serious crimes. even if it doesn t lead back
