Back in the Day: Where can I return the Blockbuster VHS tape I still have?
I recently watched the 2020 documentary “The Last Blockbuster” about the sole remaining video rental shop on Earth left from the juggernaut chain that once ruled the world.
Blockbuster at one point had approximately 9,000 stores with a new one opening every 17 hours, but now the lone holdout is in Bend, Oregon.
The documentary is a love letter to Blockbuster (well, except for a brief segment from the bitter guy who made the “Toxic Avenger” films) and it is funny, nostalgic and educational. The general manager of the store, Sandi Harding, is portrayed as empathetic, kind and loyal to her employees.
