Ruth C. Fry McKennon, 90, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on September 1, 2022. Ruth was born in Lititz to the late William B. and Emma (Engle) Fry.
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A Michigan resident was initially reported to be swimming at Victory Bible Camp near Glenn Highway, but according to troopers when he went under the water he did not resurface.
On Saturday Afternoon Alaska State Troopers were notified of a missing swimmer at Victory Bible Camp near mile 94 of the Glenn Highway, between Palmer and Glennallen.
Reports indicated that Michigan resident Clare Harkema, 72, was swimming when he went under the water and did not resurface.
Members of Harkema s Family and others searched the area in an effort to locate him, but were unsuccessful.
State Troopers, along with local emergency personnel, a LifeFlight helicopter, and a dive team responded to the lake to assist in the search.
