Photo: Kelli DirksBack when I used to lead food-centric walking tours as a side hustle in the Before Times, I would describe the wedge-shaped building that housed Union Common at the intersection of Division and Broadway as “Nashville’s mini-Flatiron Building” as an homage to the iconic Manhattan landmark on Madison Square Park. Apparently that wasn’t as much of a stretch as I imagined the space has recently reopened as a new restaurant named Flatiron Nashville, the second project from the team behind Sylvan Park’s answer.

The owners of Sylvan Park restaurant answer. will open a new establishment called Flatiron, to take the space of the Midtown building located at the Broadway and Division Street split. The opening is set for May 3.
According to a release, Chris Raucci and Victoria Rothberg plan for the restaurant to offer a menu with a mix of American classics and modern fare.â
Located at 1929 Broadway, the building was last home to steakhouse Union Common. Nashville-based Hill Realty owns the building (since 1941), with terms of the lease and the cost to get operational not being disclosed. Adjacent to the building is the structure home to Two Boots Pizza (previously The Great Escape).
