People who live in Montmorency, in Melbourneâs outer north-east, often say the green, hilly suburb, which is full of walking paths and parks, feels more like a country town.
However, resident Damian Magner is worried the area is at risk of losing one of its environmental assets, after locals discovered that a patch of remnant bushland, about to be cleared as part of level crossing removal works, is home to the endangered Eltham copper butterfly.
