Glee Heikes, the elegant philanthropist and High Desert staple for more than 50 years, who co-founded the Assistance League of Victor Valley, has died. She was 97.
Heikes passed away quietly on Monday at her home in Apple Valley, according to her loved ones, who said she lived by the creed, “The joy of living is in the joy of giving.”
“Glee Heikes loved life and it loved her,” they said. “Every day was a blessing and she made each day count.”
