Burlington, Ia- Burlington celebrated the opening of a new Veterans Clinic on Tuesday.
Many people gathered outside the new Burlington Clinic at 1000 North Roosevelt Avenue for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, followed by tours of the new facility.
Iowa City VA Health System Chief of Staff Dr. Victor Mizrachi says the clinic will help veterans in the Burlington area get the care they need without having to travel.
“This will enable us to cover the area of Burlington, and be able to treat patients so they don’t have to travel long distances to get healthcare,” Dr. Mizrachi said.
The clinic will fully open to patients on Monday, June 7th

A new outpatient clinic in Burlington offering medical care to veterans will open to patients on June 7.
The Iowa City VA Health Care System, which serves 33 counties in eastern Iowa and 16 counties in western Illinois, will officially unveil the new clinic, 1000 N. Roosevelt Ave., Suite 7, with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. on June 1.
Local, state, and federal officials will be present, and representatives of VA programs and services will be available to answer questions and provide information.
Before officially opening for patient services, the Iowa City VA will host a vaccine clinic for area veterans and their spouses from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on June 3. That clinic will give the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine.
