9 & 10 News April 6, 2021 A child advocacy center in Montcalm County is hoping for federal funding to renewed in order to keep serving child victims and their families. On Tuesday, US Congressman John Moolenaar (R) MI – 4th district, visited the Ionia Montcalm Child Advocacy Center to see how this funding will help serve the needs of the community. “The number one goal for our child advocacy center is called the secure and friendly environment,” says Andrea Krause, Montcalm County prosecuting attorney. Federal funding from the Victims Of Crime Act (VOCA) has helped child abuse centers like the Child Advocacy Center get the resources they need to help victims.
