Johnson County’s Commissioners voted this week to amend the current 2020-21 budget to add funds to help deal with the pandemic and for the county’s Victim Witness Program.
The first grant, from the Wyoming Department of Health, is for just over $102,000 for COVID-19 surveillance and testing.
The second, for roughly $460, is a reimbursement, according to Clerk Vickie Edelman.
The total amount of the budget amendment was $102,638.98.

Mifflintown – During a brief meeting Tuesday the Juniata County commissioners ratified the receipt of the Juniata County Rights and Services Act (RASA) and Victims of Juvenile Offenders (VOJO) Services Grant application sub-grant in the amount of $79,144.00 as submitted by Sylvia Middaugh, Victim Witness Program Coordinator.
The funds provided by the RASA and VOJO program are to support the carrying out of responsibilities assigned to Prosecution and Juvenile Probation under the Crime Victims Act (Act 85 of 2002), the Juvenile Act and Pennsylvania’s Rules of Juvenile Court Procedure.
The goal of RASA and VOJO funding is to ensure that victims of crimes committed by adult and juvenile offenders, whose cases are processed within the criminal and juvenile justice systems, receive all the rights and services to which they are entitled under law.
