Bejon Haswell/Stuff/Stuff The Zonta Club of Timaru director of advocacy and awards committee Joy Hall has hung or distributed 400 posters with emergency contact details for women who may be fearful for their safety. The holiday season is a high risk time of year for many women with the threat of family violence so Zonta has been distributing 500 information posters in public places with emergency contact details for them to record and use if needed. Joy Hall, the Zonta Club of Timaru director of advocacy and awards committee, said she and some other members saw similar posters when they were at conference in Australia last year and thought they would be useful for South Canterbury women.
