LAVA Community Support Event Goes Virtual
LAVA News:
In order to ensure that the community can safely show support for victims, the Los Alamos Police Department’s Victim Assistant (LAVA) National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) Community Support Walk will be a virtual event.
There will not be an in-person event.
At the Turquoise Level, an event can be held with a mass gathering limit of 150 persons, or 200 vehicles. The safest way to ensure that these limits are not exceeded is to provide t-shirts to individuals and individual families at a scheduled time and host a virtual event, rather than in-person.

JJAB News:

Youth ages 5-18 that live or attend school in Los Alamos County were provided with the winter clothing in the first two weeks of December.
The JJAB Resource Specialists, Los Alamos Public School (LAPS) Counselors, and the Los Alamos County Victim Assistant worked to identify needs and submitted requests.
In addition to receiving financial donations to purchase items, donations of clothing were provided by the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation and other community members. Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church also provided space to store and sort the items, while three volunteers from All Together Los Alamos assisted the JJAB Resource Specialists, LAPS Counselors, and Victim Assistant with sort
