Montgomery County Police Chief Marcus Jones said crime in the county was up 10% in 2023, with downtown Silver Spring accounting for 9% of all of the crimes.

May 22 Sacramento County s teachers of the year from the last two years will be honored at this Sunday s River Cats game.
The Sacramento County Office of Education has recognized 27 teachers as outstanding educators an unusually large number due to last year s canceled ceremony amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The teachers, whose work between the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years is being honored, will be given two free tickets to Sunday s game and will be recognized in the stadium.
Four of the teachers of the year will also make an appearance on the field at Sutter Health Park in a special pre-game ceremony.
one with possibly life-threatening injuries. nine overall injured. this all started in prince george s county, which is right over there. that s pennsylvania avenue. we re told police tried to pull somebody over, but instead of going over, they fled and they fled towards this intersection. when they came to intersection, there was a metro bus coming from that direction on southern avenue. the suspect car hit that bus and a lot of folks are giving the bus driver credit because he apparently maneuvered that way over that concrete into sboo that grassy area in the distance. some people say if he hasn t maneuvered well, this could have been worse. this thing was utter chaos. in all, it was more than just the suspect s vehicle and the metro bus involved. there were about three other cars involved as well. as i mentioned, six people overall taken to the hospital. one possibly with life-threatening injuries. some of the folks taken to the hospital were on that metro bus. some folks
