Known for opposing the loss of historically important buildings, London’s heritage community wants to also be known for what it supports.
The 2021 London Heritage Awards were doled out by two groups in the city, giving credit to projects that were done right, said Susan Bentley, a local heritage activist.

“We want to counter the negative impression some may have of us, that we always say what should not be done, what should not be torn down. This is a celebration of success,” said Bentley, a member of the London branch of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario and former president of the London Heritage Foundation.
