Military installations have major presence in Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District
A Missouri House committee on congressional redistricting will hear public testimony Thursday morning in Jefferson City from residents who live in west-central Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District.

The 24-county district includes Columbia, Moberly, Sedalia, Warrensburg, Waynesville, Lebanon and Nevada. Fort Leonard Wood near Waynesville and Whiteman Air Force Base near Knob Noster are both located in the 4th District.
In-person and written testimony will be accepted Thursday morning at 8:30 at the Statehouse. The Missouri House Special Committee on Redistricting is looking for information from residents about the district’s characteristics, including the things that make it good and bad.
COLUMBIA â MU Health Care s Faurot Field vaccination site opened its doors to U.S. Representative Vicky Hartzler (R-Harrisonville) Wednesday.
Hartzler addressed vaccine concerns after she toured the facility, speaking about President Joe Bidenâs proposed stimulus plan and the issue of vaccinating teachers.
Hartzler said she was still looking at the proposed plan but thought the addition stimulus money was âpremature.â
âWe have spent $4.1 trillion on coronavirus efforts,â Hartzler said. âAnd we still have $1 trillion of that money that has not been sent out yet in the various programs.â
For those in her district that need help, Hartzler said her first priority is increasing vaccine production, while also pointing to distribution issues.

Congressional joint session starts; Mid-Missouri House members to oppose Electoral College vote
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
US Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Jefferson City) has said he is joining other GOP legislators to oppose the Electoral College count.
The vote is set to be certified Wednesday afternoon in DC before a joint session of Congress. President Trump has called for his vice president to reject the count.
