DOVER-FOXCROFT The process to move the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center from cramped conditions in the Piscatquis County Jail in Dover-Foxcroft into the administrative unit of the sheriff’s office in Guilford has begun.
The Piscataquis County Commissioners learned a bit more during a meeting on Tuesday, Feb.
DOVER-FOXCROFT Piscataquis County’s dispatch center will have a new home in early 2023, but it won’t be the one that county officials have discussed for months as part of an overhaul meant to fix chronic radio communications problems for emergency personnel.
The dispatch center will be relocated from cramped conditions inside the Piscataquis County Jail to the administrative unit of the sheriff’s office on the first floor, Sheriff Robert Young said.
DOVER-FOXCROFT Piscataquis County’s Emergency Management Agency director is traveling to nearly every structure fire because of outdated infrastructure and long-running problems with the county’s radio communications for emergency personnel.
“When I sit in my car because I have a repeater in it, I have two radios going, my portable and mobile radios,” Director Jaeme Duggan said.
