Bayer, GenZero, and Shell Energy India are forming a partnership to create a scalable model for reducing methane emissions in rice cultivation. The programme will include MRV mechanisms, remote sensing technology and the International Rice Research Institute s assessment. Paddy rice cultivation is responsible for approximately 10% of global methane emissions, so the project aims to reduce emissions and improve soil health while benefiting smallholder rice farmers.
