ASSEMBLY:Philip Britton BOLTON School celebrated its rich heritage at its annual Founders and Benefactors Assembly. Headmaster Philip Briton led the assembly, with a selection of pupils in the Great Hall and others, including old boys, on Zoom. The annual event, inaugurated in 2015 in the School’s 500th year, is held on or around the May 7, which marks the anniversary of the death of Lord Leverhulme who died in 1925 and was responsible for bringing the school together as it stands today. Mr Britton spoke about the history of the school, which can be traced back to the reign of Henry VIII and its re-founding during the English Civil War.
