The city’s innumerable garbage disposal crises seem to have no end. In a fresh problem,
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) seems to be turning a blind eye to blatant illegal garbage
dumping at
NIBM Road. At least 300 residents of Runwal Daffodils housing society in Undri claim they are struggling with the foul stench of a huge pile-up of trash, along with the toxic smoke released when it is burned illegally on an open
plot near their premises. They claim that 10-12 tractors full of waste are dumped here every day, and the hygiene and burning issues have now become a major health hazard for residents. Further, the denizens claimed that repeated complaints to PMC have yielded no action against culprits.
