Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 3
I’m not sure if it’s just my slow normalization to larger ring gauge cigars or if it’s the use of two wrappers, but this cigar is deceivingly large. The candela used here is a deeper shade of green compared to some other candelas, and it contrasts the brown wrapper rather well, something that is no doubt helped by the reds that the darker wrapper has. As I smell the two wrappers, I don’t pick up many of the classic signs of candela, but I do notice that the candela’s aroma seems to be more potent than that of the non-candela leaf. There’s lots of leather from both colors of wrappers, though when I smell the candela portion I get something that reminds me of dry pasta. Number of Cigars Smoked For Review: 3
From a visual perspective, the Viaje Circa ’45 Reserva Edición Limitada is covered in a very dark almost black in certain light wrapper that has plenty of tooth to spare, although very little obvious oil. There are also a number of veins running up and down the length of the cigar and it is nicely firm when squeezed. Aroma from the wrapper and foot is a combination of cocoa nibs, earth, barnyard, sweet cedar, leather, generic nuts and slight nutmeg, while the cold draw brings flavors of strong dark chocolate, peanut shells, hay, nutmeg, cedar, slight vanilla sweetness and a touch of floral.
Viaje Circa ’45 Reserva Edición Limitada Arrives at Stores
It looks like there’s a fourth vitola of the recently released Viaje Circa ’45 Reserva and it’s an Edición Limitada.
A number of retailers have listed a 7 x 50 Churchill vitola for sale, priced at $13.20 per cigar before taxes. It is packaged in bundles of 25, as opposed to boxes of 25 for the other cigars.
When the line was announced in late January, only three sizes were mentioned:
Viaje Circa ’45 Reserva No. 1 (5 x 52) $12 (Box of 25, $300)
Viaje Circa ’45 Reserva No. 2 (6 x 54) $12.80 (Box of 25, $320)
Viaje Circa ’45 Reserva No. 3 (5 1/2 x 58) $13.60 (Box of 25, $340)
Production for the above three vitolas was set at just 300 boxes per size. When Viaje has used the Edición Limitada designation on other cigars, it has meant that there are fewer cigars released than what has been made available in the other sizes. Retailers told
