Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Pathology departments of College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (CVSAH) in Jalukie town under Peren district jointly organised an awareness programme on “Emerging diseases of pigs and poultry and bio-security measures to be adopted for control and prevention” on November 18. An update from the college stated that the training programme was organised for the livestock farmers of Jalukie in which a total of 51 farmers attended the awareness programme. Dean of the college, Dr. I Shakuntala spoke on the importance of animal rearing and adopting bio-security measures for diseases control and prevention. She stated that livestock farmers are well versed with the management aspects and only needed guidance from experts of the college from time to time.
