Wreaths Across America (WAA), a national non-profit, as part of its Veterans Remembrance Tree Program, dedicated a Grove to Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) on the tip lands in Maine. Trees there now hold the replica dog tags of thousands of veterans, all Revolutionary War-era ancestors of DAR members nationwide.

GLEN CARBON With multiple sponsorships, the Glen Carbon Wreaths Across America movement needs more support.
Each year, the group seeks donations to lay wreaths on veterans’ graves. As of Dec. 18, 101 wreaths were sponsored, 34 percent over the goal of 75 wreaths.
On Dec. 19 at 11 a.m., Wreaths Across America will be at the Glen Carbon Cemetery to remember and honor area veterans through the laying of Remembrance Wreaths and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. The cemetery is located at the corner of West Guy and Center streets, northwest of the new fire station. Event parking will be available in the Nickel Plate Trail parking lot near the firehouse.
