Donato s Saratoga selections for Sunday, July 25, 2021

Donato’s Saratoga selections for Sunday, July 25, 2021 | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS An even, competitive field is expected for Sunday’s featured race, the Grade III Shuvee Stakes, run over nine furlongs on the dirt. With the entrants rated so close, any advantage could be a potential difference-maker. One of three entries from trainer Chad Brown, Dunbar Road (2-1), continues her trend of long layoffs between races. The 2019 Alabama Stakes winner has run well historically regardless of the time off, and has the best pure speed in the field. In a similar race, she fought back in the Grade I Distaff Stakes in November, overcoming being blocked in early to recover for a gutsy third. A better ride should make the difference here.
