VERO BEACH Art walks among neighborhood homes. Dropping in to see an artist painting in his studio. Meandering through a sculpture garden.
The dream a group of arts enthusiasts had in 2015 became reality Tuesday when the City Council unanimously designated the Edgewood neighborhood south of State Road 60 between 14th and 20th avenues as the Vero Beach Art Village.
The zoning change allows artists to operate commercial art studios from their homes and allows cafés, restaurants and bed-and-breakfasts within the residential neighborhood. I think we re all excited to see a neighborhood that has seen some decline to start coming back to life, Councilman Rey Neville said.
