Bennington police: 3 arrested in seizure of $300,000 worth of cocaine, heroin

Like us on Facebook.   BENNINGTON — Police said two women and a man were arrested on Monday following the discovery of around $300,000 worth of heroin and cocaine at a local apartment. The Bennington Police Department described the operation as its biggest illegal drug seizure in at least five years. The three people who were arrested, all Bennington residents, pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday. Laci Mayer, 33, and Frederick Grant Jr., 44, are both charged with heroin trafficking and cocaine trafficking. Each charge carries maximum potential penalties of 30 years in prison and/or a $1 million fine. Heather Farley, 39, is charged with possessing at least 200 milligrams of heroin, which is punishable by up to five years in prison and/or a $100,000 fine.

On Monday, April 12, 2021, at approximately 8:49 PM, members of the Bennington Police Department were dispatched to the area of 222 Union Street Bennington, Vermont. This was for a report of suspicious activity. Officers arrived and after speaking with the complainant, they went to 222 Union Street, Apt 1. There, Officers observed persons inside the residence involved in drug activity. Five persons were located in the residence and were ordered out of the residence. The residence was secured while investigators applied for a search warrant. A search warrant for 222 Union Street; Apt 1 was granted and members of the Bennington Police Patrol Division and Bureau of Criminal Investigations executed the warrant at 11:02 pm.
