An outbreak has been reported on Lakeland College’s Vermilion campus.
On April 6 the college released a statement confirming that there are more than 10 active cases among students and staff.

As a precaution the college has moved classes for agricultural sciences, environmental sciences and interior design technology online until further notice.
Alberta Health Services and Lakeland College’s Health Services department are working together to complete contact tracing and determine if further action needs to be taken. People in contact with those who tested positive for COVID-19 are being notified and given instructions.
Vermilion farmer named in Top 50 most influential people in Canadian Agriculture

Charlotte Wasylik is being recognized for her work in showing off the Canadian agriculture industry in new ways.
She was one of 50 Canadians who made it onto the Canadian Western Agribition Top 50 most influential people. The list is separated into five categories with 10 entries in each category. Wasylik was a finalist in the upstarts category which acknowledges future leaders in agriculture who promoted the industry in non-traditional ways or were early adopters of new ideas.
