Hopes were high as the people of the
Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District made plans for the first Southern Oregon Regional Envirothon. The timing was not great, however: the spring of 2020, just as the region went into pandemic lockdown.
But things are looking up, and the district is moving ahead with plans for the regional Envirothon this year. It is modeled after the Oregon Envirothon, which pits teams of students in competition with each other, gathering information about ecosystems and the creatures that occupy them.
