Greece is expected to host more than 20 projects in 2021, and already has about 16 scheduled, including: a follow-up film to the murder mystery Knives Out, starring Daniel Craig, from Netflix; Amazon and Paramount’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan season three; a new sci-fi film from David Cronenberg; My Big Greek Wedding 3; and Disney+ move Greek Freak about the life of Milwauke Bucks basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In COVID-19, Greece has shown its ability to cope with the pandemic efficiently and has gained praise worldwide for the collaboration between government, health experts and the public.
Filming in the country is continuing under new government COVID-19 related protocols and procedures during shootings and preparatory tasks.

Legendary Canadian director David Cronenberg is set to shoot a sci-fi film with the working title Crimes of the Future in Greece this summer.
Cronenberg wrote and directed a 1970 film of the same name about the director of a dermatological clinic who goes searching for his mentor after a plague has killed off all women.
Little is known about the new project, although frequent Cronenberg collaborator, Viggo Mortensen (A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, A Dangerous Method) has been linked with a role.
