The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration has organised 345 free buses that will run over the course of the Khmer New Year holiday, to reduce travel costs for people who intend to visit their hometowns during the period.
The Phnom Penh Autonomous Bus Transportation Authority (City Bus) will reopen public bus and ferry services from November 2 onwards and the services will be free for a limited time to make it easier for people who wish to use public transport.

Phnom Penh residents are facing food shortages and financial strife as the capital and Takhmau city complete a week of the country’s first lockdown due to the increasing number of COVID-19 infections.
The government has imposed a ban on entering neighboring cities, preventing movements outside the home, blocking all non-essential travel and businesses, and placing stringent restrictions on the sale of goods and alcohol.
Authorities in some provinces have restricted entry at their borders by setting up checkpoints and requiring travellers suspected of any exposure to persons or places linked to the February 20 community outbreak of Covid-19 to quarantine for 14 days.
The imposition of these restrictive measures follows government
The Ministry of Health on March 13 reported 39 more case of Covid-19 linked to the February 20 community transmission, bringing the total to 751 in just three weeks.
The 39 include five Vietnamese and five Chinese nationals, with the rest being Cambodian.

The Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) has requested that residents in central Phnom Penh use water sparingly so that residents on the outskirts of the capital have a sufficient supply of water.
