Police Recovered Knife From Gracie Rock Scene
This morning in Belmopan, Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero reported that police have recovered the weapon used in the Gracie Rock stabbing and confirmed that members of the Staine family and the accused had been constantly involved in disputes. He says an investigation will determine what charges will be drawn up.

“Upon their arrival the found Venecia Staine, with a stab wound injury. She was taken to the KHMH where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Information is that she was at a house in the village when she got into an altercation with her sister-in-law when she inflicted a stab wound into her. The scene was processed where a knife was recovered from the house. Investigation is being conducted into this matter and by the end of today we will determine what charges will be levied upon the said suspect.”

Venecia had been living on Antelope Street Extension in Belize City with her sister Beverly and had not visited home for the past two years. She had come to spend Easter weekend with her mother.
