Wisconsin plane crash victims ID d as National Guard airman, Air Force reservist

A woman serving in the Wisconsin Air National Guard was one of two victims killed in a small plane crash in the state last week, according to reports.  The second victim was an Air Force reservist. Staff Sgt. Remington K. Viney, 26, was flying in a twin-engine Velocity V-Twin plane with Tanner Byholm, 25, when the plane crashed in a wooded, swampy area shortly after takeoff from the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport last Tuesday morning, the Rock County Medical Examiner s Office said, according to FOX 6 in Milwaukee. No one else was on board the plane headed to Florida.

A man and woman in their 20s died in the crash. JANESVILLE - One victim of a fatal plane crash near Janesville was from Kimberly, and the other from Ashland County, authorities said Friday.  Remington K. Viney, 26, of Kimberly, and Tanner W. Byholm, 25, of Glidden, died in the crash, according to the Rock County Medical Examiner s Office. They were the only two people on board the Velocity V-Twin plane when it crashed at about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday just south of Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport in Rock County.

Staff Sgt. Remington K. Viney, 26, was killed in the aircraft crash in Janesville, Wisconsin, at 9:18 a.m. CST Feb. 16, according to the wing’s Facebook page. Local TV station Action 2 News previously reported that Viney was one of two people killed Tuesday during a plane crash in Rock County. Authorities identified the other victim as 25-year-old Tanner Byholm of Glidden, Wisconsin. Byholm was an Air Force reservist, according to an obituary posted online.
