Ventura s ATLAS Elementary to become K-8 school
East Ventura will soon get a kindergarten through eighth grade school at Academy of Technology and Leadership at Saticoy widely known as ATLAS Elementary.
On Tuesday, the Ventura Unified School District board voted 4-1, with a dissenting vote from Trustee Matt Almaraz, to add grades six to eight at the elementary school.
This vote comes after the district s decision last year to add middle school grades to Lemon Grove School, formerly known as Blanche Reynolds Elementary, for the start of the 2021-22 school year. The decision was partly made due to parents desire for a school from transitional kindergarten to eighth grade in midtown Ventura.
