One more volcanic eruption was detected in the past 24 hours from Home Reef and prior to this were five eruptions, Tonga Geological Services reported today. Home reef is located soutwest of late Island in the Vava’u Group and mariners are still required to remain at least 4km away from the area.
There are reports from Tonga's Geological Services that ongoing volcanic activity at the Home Reef poses little threat to the Vava'u and Ha'apai communities.
