In order to try and keep as much plastic out of the landfill as possible, South Country Co-op is encouraging shoppers to bring in their reusable bags.
And by being earth-friendly, local community groups and organizations will benefit.
Marketing & Community Relations Manager Carmen Hudson says they will donate 3 cents for each reusable bag used per transaction.
Here in Medicine Hat, our Ronald McDonald House will benefit.
By shopping in Taber, their District Health Foundation will receive those donations.
And the Vauxhall Public Library will also benefit from shopping at their local Co-op.
Hudson says the program originally started in October of 2019 but was then put on hold in March of last year due to the pandemic.
