Reporter ann rubin reports. Reporter the transmission tower is being taken down. But work to replace the lines out here is far from over. At 2 30 a p. M. 30 p. M. Lanes reopened, 4 30 the other lanes reopened. Terrible. Reporter this was the scene after a construction crew accidentally toppled a transmission tower sending high voltage power lines on to the overpass pedestrian bridge and cars on highway 101 trapping the people inside for hours. This is a very complicated situation with very high voltage so we need to do everything right. Reporter pg e crews rushed in grounding the wires, isolating them and beginning repairs.
