Country with weapons that permanently change the lives of the families that they are with. In conclusion, i would like to thank the mayor for inviting me out to stand with supervisor cohen, police chief sur, to support sensible gun control. The Trauma Center stands ready to care for victims. Any initiative that can reduce guns in my opinion will make the streets and the cities and counties cities like San Francisco a much safer place to live. I thank you for your time this morning. Thank you, doctor. Today were focused on ammunition and immediate interruption in the behavior that Law Enforcement advises us and sees every day that leads to more violence. In the weeks and months to come, the board and the Mayors Office will be introducing both more ideas and legislation and resolutions to support federal and state efforts in the same direction. At the same time, well also be introducing through our budget support for an ongoing organizing in our community to support nonLaw Enforcement ef

Okay, good morning. Thank you all for coming out today. Were very happy to be here. My name is ed rifkin, im the other ed, director of transportation. And as the transportation director, i oversee the sfmta which is the agency that is charged with implementing the citys transit first policy. And what our goal, what the citys goal and the transit first policy is is to make sure that everybody can get around San Francisco, that everyone can get to where they need to go. It is an important part of making the economy of San Francisco work, to making the quality of life good and better. But its not just get around San Francisco any old way. This is San Francisco, and we have values that we bring to our Transportation System. We want people to get around in a way that steps lightly on the environment. How north beach is different from union square, thats persuasive, different kinds of business, different kinds of support from corporation, all that kind of thing. So, those would be my comments. I guess id first say i wouldnt have recommended

Good afternoon again. I came here specifically today to address these two items. I am not taking this lightly by asking you and urging you to really look at the traffic patterns and the traffic gridlock that occurs on the afternoons when you come from 2 80 to sixth street. And taxi drivers use this route constantly as a way to get downtown from the south part of the city and also from the garages. As you know, 99 of the cabs are situated in the south part of the city. And they need to get to the downtown area to go to work in most cases. Some of them will go to noe valley or the mission if they get call. So, its a concern if you allow the left turn going north on sixth street at harrison and then youve also allow for the parking on the east side of 5th street, you are creating much more gridlock. Calls almost
