90%. yep. need to do more. be on board. free trade. great. now off. on the issue of tax reform, obviously we re going to this is the other question here. it s one thing, we know about the blueprint and the paul ryan plan on tax reform, what that s supposed to go to is reforming the tax code versus are we using this to pay for a wall and reform the tax? those are two different discussions. i want to pivot this conversation to this issue of mexico. okay. i talked to some folks who work and live and spend a lot of time in mexico. essentially the mexican elite, whatever you want to their political elite. they feel like they re getting ejected from north america. a wall going up. nafta is getting renegotiated. there will be political pressure on their government to stop a lot of cooperation with the united states and we do a lot of cooperation. this is bigger than taxes and jobs. the trump administration does
that s actually demeaning. it s not going to happen. one of my first executive orders will be to ask the department of labor to investigate all visa abuses that undermine jobs and wages for the american worker. this is about our country now. this is about our country. you know, i have studied a lot of the trade deals over the last few months. i love reading this stuff. something strange up there. but we have the worst deals. i looked at trade deals that were made with mexico. the worst deal made with all of mexico. so they made a lot of deals, not just us, not just nafta, which is a disaster. they made a lot of deals. we have the worst deal made by any country. we re by far the biggest, we blow everything away, but we have the worst deal made by any country, and it was defective from the time it was done because of the vat tax, they didn t really take it into account. it s complicates, it doesn t matter, but it was defective and for decades nobody changed it because they were too lazy
said beijing heavily taxes u.s. products going into the country while the u.s. does not tax chinese products. all true or false? this is a little bit more opaque, this one. we ve been looking at this, and trying to find out where china taxes u.s. goods and the u.s. doesn t apply the same taxes. there is a value added tax, a vat tax. that applies to everything that goes into china and everything made within china, they re subject to a 17% value added tax which includes u.s. goods. the u.s. doesn t have that. he could be talking about. he could be talking act tariffs. china imposes average 5% taxes on goods going into china, but the u.s. imposes average 3% tariffs on goods going into the u.s. so what he s specifically talking about here, it s unclear at this stage, but it s still
