An open international competition has been launched to revamp Aristotle Square and surrounding streets in the centre of Thessaloniki, Greece [Deadline: 1 June 2021]
The competition – organised by the Municipality of Thessaloniki – seeks proposals to overhaul and upgrade the prominent 32,500m
2 square and pedestrianized axis which is the city’s main public space.

The project will reconstruct the city center area which was originally designed by French architect Ernest Hébrard in 1918 and has been reconfigured several times since. Concepts should respond to the site’s unique architecture and the facades of surrounding structures while also resolving traffic issues and upgrading urban lighting.
