The subjection of women in Russia, even noble ones, is a well-known stereotype. But did you know that Russian noblewomen had the right to vote as early as the mid-18th century? Even though those voting rights were incomplete and passive, women could, nevertheless, influence the outcome of the elections of nobility in counties and provinces.
