Sangrur DC Jitendra Jorwal said each day they monitor the calls received at the relief camps in Hamirgarh, Khanauri and Rampur Gujjran to assess the situation before visiting the affected areas with relief material.
Women of different Self Help Groups (SHGs), of different villages had joined Promoting Employment of Households through Entrepreneurship and Livelihood (PEHEL), introduced by Sangrur administration to set up their small enterprises.
Additional deputy commissioner (development) Varjeet Walia, during a meeting of the District Management Mission Committee, said farmers will be encouraged to plant trees through financial assistance under the National Horticulture Mission Scheme.
