I must confess, though, that i have some sadness tonight. I will miss waking up every day to go to work for the people of arkansas. As one chapter of my life closes, another chapter begins. It is uncertain but exciting because i know god will direct my steps to whatever he has planned for me. Before i leave this stage, i have to thank a few people. First, joy, who has been with me every step of the way. [applause] and our children. Come up here. [cheers and applause] and of course my wonderful parents. [cheers and applause] and my two brothers, come up here. Teamlso, a Great Campaign and my incredible official staff. Thank you. [applause] and all of my many supporters across the state who believe in me and who have carried me through this campaign. Thank you, god bless you. [applause] [applause] thank you. Thank you. Thank you, everyone. How about that win . [applause] i think it was the wind that we all hoped for and may be s aected, but perhap little earlier and bigger than expected.

The polling in recent months has been trending towards mcconnell asked month up by four points in the bluegrass poll along with two television stations in the newspaper here in kentucky. We recently showed a twopoint lead though these polls are in the margin of error and it wouldnt be a shock if either one of them comes out a couple Percentage Points ahead. Host Allison Grimes was asked whether she voted for barack obama in 2008 and 2012. First of all, why this question and what kind of news did she make . Change the way things work in washington it, if we dont put , the answer will be no. It will not have the same opportunities. I will never shy away from the greatness of our country. Years to another movement confronting the same issues. The black panthers vanguard of the revolution is a new film that just premiered here at sundance. One of the seminal moments was december 4, 1969 when police gunned down party leader fred hampton in his bed. One of the most Amazing Things about fred hampton, besides the fact he was 21 years old, when he was making the speeches and head of the Chicago Branch of the panthers, is one thing he always talked about was racial unity. One of the things that scared J Edgar Hoover is that he is a real ability to unite people. Today we spend the hour with awardwinning director Stanley Nelson, and Kathleen Cleaver , former Communications Secretary of the black Panther Party, now a law professor at Emory University. The film also focuses on her late husband Eldridge Cleaver, huey p. Newton and the fbis attempts to destroy the party. All that and more, coming up. Welcome to democracy now , democracynow.
