The 406th District Court Judge Oscar J. Hale Jr. denied a motion for reconsideration in the capital punishment case against Samuel Enrique Lopez earlier this month.
On June 2, Defense Attorney Kimberly Gonzalez filed a motion for reconsideration of denial of defense’s motion for disinterment of a body after the original request was denied..
In May, Hale denied defense’s original motion for disinterment of a body stating that Lopez’s constitutional rights were not being denied based on the fact that Webb County Medical Examiner Dr. Corinne Stern and the state’s evidence has been provided to the defense.
