A CSMT-Jalna Vande Bharat Express train collided with a bull after crossing Latur station in Maharashtra on Saturday evening, a Railways official said.
A 40-year-old woman and her two daughters died on Sunday evening when they were run over by the Vande Bharat Express at a manned level crossing in this district while they were crossing it, police said.
Following the accident, which took place around 6.30 pm, the train was halted for 20 minutes for the carcass of the bull to be removed from under the second coach after the main engine. It was then allowed to continue its journey, the officials said.
The Bhopal-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express resumed its journey after necessary repairs of the damaged front portion of the train due to an accident near Gwalior.
The accident with the Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer Vande Bharat Express claimed the life of a retired Indian Railways employee along with the cow that got in the train s way.
