Through tributes from loved ones and confirmation through sources such as local NHS trusts and other authorities, the PA news agency has confirmed the names of health and social care workers who have died after contracting Covid-19 since March 11 2020. This chronological list contains people who were working in roles shortly before their deaths where they were likely to come into contact with patients. The figure is likely to be lower than the true number of workers who have died, as the names of some victims will not yet be in the public domain.

Tributes have been paid to a “much loved” health worker who is one of seven Barts Health Trust employees to die with Covid-19.
Vincent Lawlor had worked as an adviser in the sexual health service at Barts for 20 years and was based at The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.
He died on December 28 after a short battle with the virus, Barts Health revealed this week.
A spokesman for Barts Health said: “He was a much loved, jovial and respected member of the team. He led our health advisory team in ensuring high levels of patient care.

A dedicated and respected respiratory doctor who went on the frontline to fight coronavirus has died from the illness.
Dr David Weir, who was in his sixties, had worked for the NHS in North Manchester for 30 years, before moving to East Lancashire during the pandemic.
He died from Covid-19 in December and is among 216 healthcare workers who have passed away from it.
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust chief executive Kevin McGee led tributes to Dr Weir today.
